This morning's Update on Emmie

Emmie, Sunday, July 6, 2008

I just received an email from Emmie's Great Grandmother. It read as follows:

"Here is our little great grand daughter. She is off the ventilator. They took off the crib heater, dressed her in preemie cloths and wrapped her in a blanket. It was a surprise for her mom and dad tonight when they arrived at the hospital. Jackie got to hold her like a real baby in her arms. All the monitors are still attached under her clothes. If she can hold her own body heat for 12 hours dressed and with blanket that is an important step.

They bumped her feedings to 22 ml. this afternoon, every 3 hrs. She got choked and all the alarms went off when her mommy and daddy were there. The nurse had to suction her. It was scary for them.
When they called late tonight from home the report was she was still choking some. Her vitals were dropping too low each time she choked. They may have to put her back on the ventilator and they are checking her liver functions to see if something is happening there.

Please pray for Emmie and her parents. God has brought her through this struggle for 25 days and we believe He will heal her completely. The journey is hard but our God is sufficient! Praise Him for all the blessings we have received. God bless each and everyone of you.

Thank you for all your prayers."
